2009 APSL Approved Lusitano Buckskin Stallion

Solar HM (Imported) x Aroeira Do Castenheiro (Imported) x Portugal (Brazillian Olympic Dressage Team Horse)

“Cougar” as we call him in the barn was so named for his golden color and swinging, big cat-like walk.

He was bred by Jorge Gabriel of Casa Lusitana out of hand picked breeding stock with the emphasis of Dressage lines and proven upper level performance horses. There he was shown successfully in-hand at USDF Breeds shows for young horses.

Cougar joined me in 2011 as a two year old after searching for over a year for a Dressage type Iberian with the Versatility and Trainability to become more than a “Dressage show horse” and was brought along slowly gaining varied life experiences. In 2014 he was named USDF Horse of the Year Training Level Open for Lusitanos and Andalusians with scores up to 76% throughout his inaugural year. He has also been shown in Working Equitation at Novice B with scores in the high 70’s, Western Dressage Level 4 and was 4th in the 2020 World Show after riding the test once. He has been training at the FEI level and will begin showing at that level soon. The goal is Grand Prix and is not far off. Eventually we will purse the Master’s Level in WE after we achieve our Dressage goals.

Cougar is an approved stallion with APSL and is registered with the IALHA.

He has beautiful offspring out of mares of several different breeds including Quarter horses, Santa Cruz Island Horses and mustangs. Although he is buckskin he has passed on the creme gene to all offspring creating Buckskins, Palominos and one Cremello (Cougar’s UC Davis color genetics available upon request). His progeny carry his athleticism, versatility and desire to please successfully competing in Eventing and Dressage. They would also make wonderful Western Dressage, Working Equitation or Ranch Horse Versatility horses.

Cougar stands to a limited amount of mares with fresh cooled semen and is also available frozen- Private Treaty.  We have three world class breeding stations close by that offer breeding services for mares as well as foaling services and full mare care.

Branley Ash Golden Lynx

German Riding Pony

2019 GRP Colt by Golden Grey

Branley Ash Golden Lynx is new for 2023! The only son of the top producing sire Golden Grey NRW combined with Small tour genes on the dams side from FS Numero Uno!

GOLDEN GRAY NRW’s career started as a foal when he was Reserve Champion of the Foal Championships both in Paderborn and Lienen. He received three scores of perfect 10. At the Westphalian Pony Licensing he was the 2nd Reserve and won the crowds approval. He excelled in all three basic gaits both loose and on the lunge.

GOLDEN GRAY NRW also impressed under saddle right from the start. These first impressions were fully confirmed over the course of the 2017 season. At his first competition he won the riding horse test against big horses in Hovelhof. As part of the Westphalia Week, he became Vice Westphalia Champion. At Bundeschampionat in Warendorf, there were consistently high marks and in the end it was 8.6 with the highest marks for ride ability for the day from the foreign riders, earning a SILVER medal for GOLDEN GRAY NRW and Mareike Mimberg.

He has also produced well as he competed with over 10 licensed sons including the licensing winner and current sensation GOLD GARANT.

Lynx’s damsire is none other than the prolific sire and competition pony FS Numero Uno who is currently competing in the Small Tour level. He has too many licensed sons and States Premium daughters to count, bringing great minds and movement to all his offspring.

Lynx has a great work ethic, super character and temperament as well as dashing good looks which make him a very attractive new option. His annual book is limited to 10 mares so book early! Stud fee by private treaty.

Grandsire of Lynx on his Sire side, Golden State.
